About PlayXiangqiBase

Last updated August 1, 2026

PlayXiangqiBase is a browser board for Chinese chess — Xiangqi. You open the page and the river is already drawn: nine files, ten ranks, two palaces, red and black waiting. No account wall, no lesson funnel, no club desk asking for a nickname before the first cannon moves.

We care that the pieces behave like the park table: a cannon needs a screen, a horse gets blocked at the hock, an elephant never crosses the river, soldiers change once they do. The AI answers on your device — local, not cloud. Record and the current board stay in this browser. One game on one domain — on purpose, and without a mall of other titles stacked underneath.

Who this is for

People with a few quiet minutes and a park-table mood. Learners who want legal intersections without a coach upsell. Anyone who typed Chinese chess or Xiangqi and meant a board, not a lobby, and not a portal of thumbnails.

If you already know western chess, you will recognize chariots and horses, then trip on the river and the cannon. That is fine. The board is still up while you read.

What you can open today

  • Home board — play against a local AI (Easy / Medium / Hard)
  • Vs computer — same engine, page aimed at “play vs AI” searches
  • How to play — river, palace, and the first moves that matter
  • Pieces — tap a kind and see where it may land
  • What is Xiangqi — the name note, without a history lecture
  • Vs western chess — where the tables diverge

Batch one keeps the fight local. Pass-and-play and online rooms are not on this desk yet; asking for matchmaking goes in the polite no pile for now.

What we do not do

  • No multi-game portal or “more games” thumbnail farm
  • No rating ladder, club signup, or account mirror
  • No account wall or coach funnel before move one
  • No strategy wiki farm with endless variation pages
  • No APK, .exe, or “mod” download
  • No western chess whole site, Go, or Shogi on this domain

How the board is kept

Sound starts off until you turn it on. Theme and language controls sit in the chrome. Installing as a PWA still points at this origin — it does not create a user database. Privacy, terms, and a contact path live in the footer if you need them.
